The band began its life in 1999 in Knoxville, Tennessee with singer Mike Underdown, drummer Brian Vodinh, bassist Lewis Cosby and guitarists Matt Wantland and Ryan Johnson. Before they recorded their first alubm, Cosby left the band, and he was replaced by Andy Parks. With the help of the new bassist, 10 Years released their first album Into the Half Moon, which was well-received. By the time their next album was released, Cosby was back and Parks was out. And by 2005, the band had signed with Universal Records and had released their first major label album, The Autumn Effect, which gained regional air play and earned the band a No. 1 spot on active rock radio.
