        A Bronx Tale is better known for the 1993 film of the same name, which earned a great deal of media attention for being Robert De Niros directorial debut. Palminteri wrote the screenplay, as well as acted in the lead role as a mob boss who takes a young man under his wingonly to have the teenagers father, played by De Niro, try to wrest him back from a life of crime.
