A Great Big Pile of Leaves Background
A Great Big Pile
of Leaves emerged from the ashes of Farewell to Arms, a progressive metal band that broke up in the mid 2000s. Pete Weiland
and Tyler Soucy had both been members of A Farewell to Arms, so after the group disbanded, these two rockers decided to branch
off and form their own band. The duo picked up and moved to Brooklyn in order to pursue their new musical venture, and they
quickly got to work on recording and producing their first two EPs. Before they started playing live shows, Weiland and Soucy
recognized the fact that they needed to gather more musicians to play a live act, so Tucker Yao and Matthew Fazzi joined the
band and the lineup became complete.
In 2007, A Great Big Pile of Leaves released the Fiery Works I, the first of their
EPs. It achieved notable success, and Fiery Works II was released shortly afterward. Over the years, A Great Big Pile of Leaves
