The event was recently given Tier One status by the tour, meaning that the field contains many of the world's best players. These sports tickets will not only give you a chance to see a high level of tennis, but you'll also get to enjoy all that San Diego has to offer before and after the matches.

        Acura Classic Event History

        The first tournament was held in 1984, and the event has grown with time. Acura took over as the title sponsor in 2000, and the total purse has gone from $50,000 in 1984 to the current level of $1.3 million. The event is seen by the female players as a great tune-up for the US Open, as the Acura Classic is played on hard courts similar to ones used in New York.
