What is the StubHub Affiliate Program?
The StubHub Affiliate Program pays you every time someone uses your link to purchase tickets on StubHub.com. The program is administered through our partner Commission Junction.

Which ticket sales are eligible?
All ticket purchases completed by customers other than yourself are eligible for commission.

Am I eligible to join?
Any website can apply to the StubHub Affiliate Program. Because ticket availability can fluctuate, the most successful affiliate sites tend to be fan sites and sites featuring sports, music, or theater content. Some unrelated sites, however, have had strong results, as well.

Please note that we reserve the right to reject any site, including those that:
  • promote sexually explicit material
  • promote violence
  • promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, sexual orientation, or age
  • promote illegal activities
  • violate any copyrights and/or intellectual property rights

How do I join?
It's simple! Read the affiliate agreement posted here: StubHub Affiliate Agreement, then fill out an application at:
www.cj.com

Your application will be reviewed within two business days. Once approved, you'll receive an email with your login information and detailed instructions to help you get started.

What does it cost to become a StubHub.com Affiliate?
Not a penny! It's absolutely free, and you may cancel your account at any time.

How and when do I get paid?
You have the option to get paid by check or direct deposit.

What happened to the StubHub Affiliate Network?
StubHub is moving away from our partnership with Kowabunga, the company that previously supported our Affiliate efforts. As such, we are asking all of our existing affiliates to update their links to Commission Junction.

Will you still honor transactions made prior to the changes taking place?
Absolutely! The StubHub Affiliate Network login will be available until January 31st, 2009. After January 31st, the login will no longer exist. Affiliates must update their links to Commission Junction prior to the end of January.

Can I buy tickets using my own affiliate links?
Purchasing through your own affiliate links is not permitted. Affiliates found in violation of this policy will forfeit their program eligibility.

What if users don't buy tickets right away?
All transactions occurring up to 60 days after a visitor first uses your links are eligible for commission. How this works: when your site refers a customer, their computer automatically receives a "cookie" with a specific code assigned to you.

How does Commission Junction track transactions?
Commission Junction uses cookies to track advertising sales. Cookies are used in two stages of tracking: at ad load and when the ad is clicked. The function of these cookies is solely for the purpose of paying publishers (website owners) commissions when a consumer creates a lead or makes a purchase.

What about customers who have their cookies turned off?
More than 99% of all Internet users enable cookies. Unfortunately, if a customer has cookies disabled, sales cannot be tracked.

Can a website based outside the United States become an affiliate?
Yes! Though, please note that all commission checks will be paid in U.S. dollars.

Can I use StubHub in my URL or in the name of my website?
No. Any websites with StubHub.com in the URL or in the name of the website itself are not accepted.

What if I don't have a website?
Sign up with Commission Junction and tell them the methods of promotion you plan to use. Without a website, your promotional methods will be reviewed.

What methods of promotion are acceptable?
  • Content Sites - Linking via banners or text links
  • Opt-In Email - Email marketing can be effective if the list is highly targeted and the content is relevant. We can provide content and graphics for your emails. Please note: all email marketing must be CAN-SPAM compliant and approved by StubHub prior to being sent
  • Linking - Need the datafeeds? You can find those here: http://www.stubhub-feeds.com/datafeeds/ Also, feel free to email affiliate@stubhub.com if you'd like access to the XML Datafeed and/or whitepapers
What promotion methods are strictly forbidden?
StubHub's brand identity will be protected. Affiliate partners may not modify our logo or represent themselves as StubHub in any way, including:
  • Trademark Bidding - Partners cannot profit from our trademarked terms, either through suggestive URLs or PPC keyterms. Doing so will result in termination and the forfeiture of any affiliate commissions
  • Direct Linking from Search Engines - Pay-Per-Click ads on Google, MSN, Bing, and Yahoo cannot link directly to StubHub.com. You can, however, use PPC to drive traffic to your own site and drive traffic to StubHub through your site
  • Message Board Postings - When using a message board or community site to generate traffic, affiliates must be compliant with that site's policies. This includes not posting on sites that prohibit all affiliate activity, such as Craigslist.org. Craigslist.org prohibits the posting of affiliate links. Doing so will result in termination and the forfeiture of any affiliate commissions
  • Adware, Software, & More - In order to protect you, affiliate partners may not use adware, spyware, bundled software, or anything with similar technology. Doing so will result in termination and the forfeiture of any affiliate commissions
