Born Nick van de Wall, Afrojack
is originally from Spijkenisse in The Netherlands. He initially launched his career on the underground scene before bursting
onto the EDM scene with "Take Over Control" in 2011. The jam immediately took over dance floors globally. It also rocketed
to platinum status in the United States. Riding the wave of his success, Afrojack went on to establish Wall Recordings. Also
in 2011, Afrojack made history as one of the first-ever DJs to claim a Las Vegas residency at the Wynn Hotel. Afrojack was
selected to do what he does best at iconic Wynn clubs like the Tryst, Surrender, Encore Beach Club and XS more than a dozen
times annually. But Afrojack's climb to A-list ranking didn't stop there. Afrojack also collaborated with music luminaries
from around the planet, including Chris Brown, Madonna, Ne-Yo and Pitbull. In fact, he had a hand in the success of "Give
Me Everything," which he co-penned and produced for Pitbull and Ne-Yo. Eight million copes were sold globally and it climbed
to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. He also worked on "Run the World (Girls)" for Beyonce.
Fans and critics alike
are impressed with Afrojack's talents as proven by rave reviews and concert attendance. At the 2011 Electric Daisy Carnival
(EDC) hosted in both Las Vegas and New York Afrojack's name lit up the marquee as a headliner for both events. He also made
appearances at Miami's Ultra Music Festival, Coachella and Tomorrowland.
Afrojack inked an elite global contract with
Universal Music Group, Island UK and Def Jam. The partnership proved to be a positive one. Afrojack released "The Spark,"
which married pop with EDM and highlighted a fresh sound for Afrojack as an accomplished artist.
It's no surprise that
the buzz surrounding Afrojack has naturally led to courtships from corporate brands. Afrojack has established a partnership
with G-Star Raw, a popular fashion label. Afrojack-influenced designs are now available globally. He additionally was approached
by Razer, a top gaming company, to consult on product development.
