Alejandro Escovedo is no stranger to music. The son of Mexican immigrants to Texas, Escovedo is from a family of professional musicians, including brothers Pete Escovedo and Coke Escovedo (percussionists). Glamorous Life diva Sheila E is additionally Escovedo's niece and daughter of Pete. He first began showcasing his talent in the first-wave punk rock group The Nuns. He eventually left The Nuns and relocated to Austin, Texas, where he adopted the roots rock/alternative country style. But it was crossover to a solo career where he found his true voice. Escovedo's rise to fame has been gradual, but it has deepened his insight and his ability to perform. His exhaustive touring schedule and unwavering determination to place one album after another has transported him through many musical scenes.
