The band was formed near Nashville in 2002, and is made up of friends who all lived in the same suburb as teenagers. Their first release, All We Know is Falling, was put out in 2005. It was cut after a record executive saw them live only one time. Since then, Paramore has played in the Purple Door Festival and has been a featured band on the Vans Warped Tour.

In 2007, the band released their second album, Riot! and received heavy critical acclaim as well as a surge of interest from new fans. They have continued to develop their music and release hit albums since then. The band is often compared to Fall Out Boy and Panic!
