Alumni Stadium History
Alumni Stadium is the historic home field of the Boston College Eagles football team which
first opened in 1957. The first home of the Boston College Eagles was Alumni Field which saw its first game played in 1915
but quickly proved to be too small to accommodate the hordes of BC fans coming to the stadium for home games. The Eagles then
played home games at Fenway Park and Braves Field before Alumni Stadium was constructed in an effort to give BC Eagles football
an on-campus home. Since opening, Alumni Stadium has become one of the biggest draws in the Boston area and has become an
imposing stadium for every visiting team when they come to take on the Eagles.
