America Tickets - America Tour Dates

America Concert Schedule

No, attending an America concert doesn't consist of singing the Star Spangled Banner over and over; rather, this beloved folk rock outfit will perform some of the best rock hits from the '70s to now. Formed in London in 1970, America can easily be considered a classic folk rock group, as they are responsible for major transatlantic hits like "A Horse with No Name", "You Can Do Magic", and "Sister Golden Hair". While this famed rock trio has now become a duo, comprised of Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell, there is no doubt that America can still put on a rousing performance. Throughout the decades, America has remained at the forefront of the folk rock scene, and now they are gearing up for another round of highly anticipated shows. Whether you have been a fan of America since the '70s or have yet to discover their wildly infectious soft rock tunes, you definitely shouldn't miss out on this opportunity to see them live in concert!

Beginning in January 2015, America will be hitting the touring road to bring their massive hits to cities like Mount Pleasant, Salamanca, Rama, French Lick, Joliet, and Atlantic City. No matter where America steps out on stage, you can count on this duo to put on an incredible live show. After all, they have spent the past several decades earning glowing reviews for their live performances. Don't miss out on seeing America in action and grab your tickets right here on StubHub before they all sell out!

America Background

America was originally a trio, consisting of Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell, and Dan Peek. All three had British mothers and American fathers who were stationed at an air force base in London. They became close friends during their school years, and all three bonded quickly over their love of music. In 1970, the trio decided to start making music together, mimicking the acoustic trio style of Crosby, Stills and Nash. Eventually, their sound evolved and became a distinguished folk rock style, and they quickly started amassing local fans. The trio decided on the name "America" for their group because they didn't want people to think they were a group of British musicians trying too hard to sound like American musicians. About a year after forming, America signed to the UK Warner Brothers label, and just like that they were well on their way to international stardom.

Their debut album spawned hits like "I Need You" and "A Horse with No Name", and it quickly went platinum. America found success in both the UK and the US, making them a truly transatlantic sensation. Throughout the rest of the '70s, America just continued to climb to the top of the folk rock scene, earning a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1972 and churning out one commercial hit after another. For well over a decade, America enjoyed significant commercial success, although it eventually faded near the late '80s. That didn't keep America from recording new music and performing more shows, however. Instead, they kept hitting the studio and stayed true to their creative vision, maintaining their popularity amongst their old fans and finding new fans wherever they perform. No matter where America steps out on stage, you can expect a large and enthusiastic crowd to pack the venue. So when this famed folk rock duo stops at a concert venue in your area, make sure that you are in the audience to experience some of America's greatest hits performed live!
