The Anaheim Ducks were formerly known as the mighty Ducks of Anaheim, until the franchise changed its name in 2006. Originally owned by The Walt Disney Company, the Ducks have not been able to separate their name recognition with a movie called The Mighty Ducks, starring Emilio Estevez and a young Joshua Jackson. The Mighty Ducks of cinema were a losing youth hockey team of loveable losers who learn how to win from an ex-NHL player (Estevez) and learn how to be a team from each other.
