2014 Arizona Cardinals Schedule

After just missing out on the playoffs despite a 10-6 season in 2013, the Cardinals are reloaded and will be taking a look at the top of the standings in arguably the toughest division in all of football. With a stout defense, an offense with some big-time playmakers and some rising stars who can do it all, the Cardinals are sure to provide plenty of amazing moments throughout the year as they look to put together yet another memorable season. Whether you're looking for a tough home game against a divisional rival or an away matchup against an out-of-conference powerhouse, the 2014 Arizona Cardinals schedule is sure to have something for you this season.

Out of all the games this season, the Cardinals will be looking forward to Sept. 21 when the San Francisco 49ers come to town, as the Niners have become a major factor in the division in the last couple of seasons. A Nov. 16 matchup against the high-flying Detroit Lions will be another test for sure and you can count on the atmosphere surrounding the Dec. 21 home matchup against the defending champion Seahawks to be absolutely filled to the brim with excitement.

It's certainly not only about the home matchups, as you'll have an opportunity to head out and see the Cardinals on the road for a bevy of huge games that are sure to have the attention of fans. It doesn't get much bigger than an Oct. 5 game against the Broncos in Denver, though a Nov. 2 game in Dallas is another game to have circled on your calendar, as is a Nov. 23 game in Seattle against the Seahawks. With all kinds of exciting games to choose from and a team that looks like they're on the rise in the NFC West, this is a team that you'll definitely want to keep your eye on once again this season as they look to take their next step forward.

Arizona Cardinals Team Info

The Cardinals have their sights set on the postseason in 2014, and they added some nice talent in the offseason's NFL Draft in order to point them in that direction. Arizona selected Washington State safety Deone Bucannon with the 27th pick in the first round of the draft, and the team is hoping to pair him with the electric Tyrann Mathieu to create an even better secondary than they already have. The team took Notre Dame tight end Troy Niklas with their second-round pick, and he could factor into the offense right away as the Cardinals look to stretch the field and find a major target in the red zone.

Offenses around the league have taken notice of the Cardinals' D, as they have established themselves as one of the toughest units in the entire league and a team that clearly has its best years ahead of them. The defense is filled with electrifying athletes, with corner/punt returner Patrick Peterson leading the way and a d-line and linebacking corps that is known to give offensive coordinators nightmares. Offensively, the Cardinals have plenty of talent as well thanks to Carson Palmer and all-world wideout Larry Fitzgerald, making them a balanced team that looks like they'll be a major part of the NFC West playoff picture for a long time coming.

Will you be there when your favorite player hauls in the clutch, game-winning catch that is headed straight for the highlight reels? This is a sport that you really can't appreciate from home no matter how advanced our technology gets, as it's in the stands with the rest of the committed fans that the whole experience really springs to a completely different level. Arizona Cardinals History

The Cardinals are one of only two charter members of the NFL to remain in the league today, as they officially entered the NFL in 1920. The team currently plays in Glendale, AZ, but had previously played in Chicago and St. Louis before moving out west. During the 2008 season the Cardinals made it all the way to the Super Bowl thanks to a resurgent season from quarterback Kurt Warner, but ultimately fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers in one of the most exciting Super Bowls in history. These days, the Cardinals are in another exciting era thanks to one of the most dominant defenses in the league and an offense built around savvy vets and explosive playmakers. Add it all up and there has never been a better time to be a part of the Cardinals franchise, as this is a team that has fans daydreaming about seeing their team make a move all the way to the Super Bowl.
