Arizona Cardinals Schedule in 2014

The Arizona Cardinals are ready to hit the football field in an effort to rise to the top in 2014. The Cardinals have a team that is stacked with talent, and their goal is to take home their division title and reach the postseason this year. The Cardinals play in the NFC West division, one of the best divisions in all of football. The Cardinals put together a good season in 2013 but narrowly missed out on the playoffs thanks to how competitive the conference was as a whole last season, and they're back and more motivated than ever. Arizona will have to take down their division rivals when they come to town this season, and if they can they'll be in a good position to take home the NFC West crown. The fans are sure to pack into the stands at University of Phoenix Stadium to catch all of the biggest matchups of 2014.

The Cardinals will be looking forward to September 21st when the San Francisco 49ers come to town. The Cardinals and 49ers are both members of the NFC West, so this matchup will certainly factor into the divisional race. The Niners have a talented young quarterback under center in Colin Kaepernick, a player that was able to take the team to the NFC Championship in both of his seasons as the starter for San Fran, winning one of those games. Arizona has a tough defense, though, and they'll be looking to stifle Kaepernick, as well as running back Frank Gore. If the Cards can send the Niners back to the Bay with a loss, it will be a huge step toward the top of the division standings.

The biggest home game of the year for the Cardinals will likely be played on December 21st. Not only is it the last home game of the season for Arizona, but it also when the Cardinals play the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks won the NFC West last season and used the momentum from a fantastic regular season to catapult them into the Super Bowl, where they won the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The Seahawks have a tough defense themselves, so it could come down to a game of field position when these two teams match up. It should be a fantastic contest that the Cardinals would love to emerge victorious from.

Arizona Cardinals Team Info

The Cardinals have their sights set on the postseason in 2014, and they added some nice talent in the offseason's NFL Draft in order to point them in that direction. Arizona selected Washington State safety Deone Bucannon with the 27th pick in the first round of the draft, and the team is hoping to pair him with the electric Tyrann Mathieu. The team took Notre Dame tight end Troy Niklas with their second-round pick, and he could factor into the offense right away. Head coach Bruce Arians is a big fan of using the tight end in the passing game, and Niklas may be called up early to contribute. As far as a long-term pick goes, it does not get more intriguing than Logan Thomas, the quarterback that the Cards took in the fourth round. Thomas has all the physical tools to be a star down the road, and the club will have time to develop them behind starter Carson Palmer.

Offenses around the league have taken notice of the Cardinals' D, as they have established themselves as one of the toughest units in the entire league and a team that clearly has its best years ahead of them. The defense is filled with electrifying athletes, with corner/punt returner Patrick Peterson leading the way and a d-line and linebacking corps that is known to give offensive coordinators nightmares. Offensively, the Cardinals have plenty of talent as well thanks to Palmer and all-world wideout Larry Fitzgerald, making them a balanced team that looks like they'll be a major part of the NFC West playoff picture for a long time coming.

Fan Experience

The NFL has plenty of great games on the schedule each and every season, from plenty of top-tier regular season matchups and playoff games to the Pro Bowl and, of course, the Super Bowl. These are some of the best athletes in the entire world, though that's something that you need to see for yourself to truly appreciate. Will you be there when your favorite player hauls in the clutch, game-winning catch that is headed straight for the highlight reels? This is a sport that you really can't appreciate from home no matter how advanced our technology gets, as it's in the stands with the rest of the committed that the whole experience really springs to a completely different level.

Arizona Cardinals Trivia

What former Arizona Cardinals quarterback's nickname was "The Snake?"

The answer is Jake Plummer, who was the starting quarterback for the Cardinals for several years before moving on to play in Denver for the Broncos. Plummer gave the Cards some solid seasons, but was unable to live up to the hype surrounding his arrival in the desert.

Arizona Cardinals History

The Cardinals are one of only two charter members of the NFL to remain in the league today, as they officially entered the NFL in 1920. The team currently plays in Glendale, AZ, but had previously played in Chicago and St. Louis before moving out west. During the 2008 season the Cardinals made it all the way to the Super Bowl thanks to a resurgent season from quarterback Kurt Warner, but ultimately fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers in one of the most exciting Super Bowls in history. These days, the Cardinals are in another exciting era thanks to one of the most dominant defenses in the league and an offense built around savvy vets and explosive playmakers. Add it all up and there has never been a better time to be a part of the Cardinals franchise.

Arizona Cardinals Fans

At the University of Phoenix, you'll see a state-of-the-art facility and a skilled team that routinely energizes the crowd with ease. You can see the Cards from your high-def TV, but it's another experience altogether to actually be there when the game is heating up and the Cardinals are digging in against a prominent rival. Come out for a game loaded with big hits, spectacular catches and eye-popping throws that you'll have to see first-hand to believe as the Cards hope to give their fans another season loaded with moments they'll be talking about all over town.
