Arthur Steven Lange was born on October 11, 1967 in Union Township, New Jersey. He lived a "normal" childhood, and was an avid athlete in high school. He worked after high school as a contractor with his father, but was forced to take work as a longshoreman after his father was crippled in a workplace accident.
