Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson came together in the ‘60s writing lyrics for artists like Ray Charles (“Let’s
Go Get Stone” and “I Don’t Need No Doctor”). They joined Motown a few years later writing for Marvin
Gaye and Tammi Terrell. They started singing together by 1973, releasing Keep It Comin’ and Gimme Something Real. They
started to see success with the gold Is It Still Good to Ya and Stay Free.
Still singing together after more than four decades together, the husband and wife team Ashford and Simpson have been
working in their New York City restaurant Sugar Bar among other arenas since groove and funk stopped being main industry
recordings, but they still make a great act, so if you want to relive their (and perhaps yours?) glory days, check out Ashford and Simpson tickets today!
If you loved their hits like “Don’t Cost You Nothing” and “Bridge over Trouble Water” (Simpson’s
solo work), then you won’t want to miss the Motown duo when they come to a city near you! Don’t miss them perform
now as Ashford and Simpson tickets are now available, something that will get
you groovin’ and movin’ just like during the disco days! Enjoy this team one more time when they perform live!
