Atlanta Civic Center History
The Atlanta Civic Center, officially named the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center
is a theater located in the city of Atlanta, GA. The venue is located in SoNo area of Atlanta and sees some incredible shows
being put on there on a regular basis. The Atlanta Civic Center was built in 1967 as a part of the city's convention center
and has been a major attraction in the Atlanta area ever since. The theater has hosted some memorable events over the years,
including the cultural program for the 1996 Summer Olympics, which famously took place in Atlanta. The venue underwent a massive
renovation that cost approximately $2 million, and added the Boisfeuillet Jones moniker to the building thanks to a large
donation by the local businessman of that name. The building has since seen some incredible events, including a speech by
then-president of the United States of American George W. Bush in 2005. Fans of this venue got a score in 2007 when it was
reported that the city was considering demolishing the structure, but any plans for a demolition appear to have been scrapped.
This venue has become a staple of the Atlanta community, and many people have packed inside its walls to take in a show of
some kind. The Atlanta Civic Center regularly sees big names from a variety of different entertainment avenues hit the stage
