Only one university in the Atlantic 10 Conference will get the automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament. Those that don't win here will have to wait to see if the selection committee invites them to the Dance or not.
NCAA basketball tickets to see the Atlantic 10 Tournament first went on sale in 1977, the year the Conference was formed. Massachusetts won the tournament five times in the 1990s, and Xavier has won at least three times in the 2000s. The venue for the playoffs is often times the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
If your team isn't going to make the NCAA Tournament based on its regular season performances, you still always have a chance to make it to the Dance by winning a conference tournament. Every team in the Atlantic 10 will be giving it their all in trying to move on the NCAAs.
