Auburn Tigers Football Schedule in 2014

The Auburn Tigers are ready to take to the field and tear into the competition as they look to return to the National Championship Game. Last season the Tigers finished with a 13-1 record (7-1 in SEC play) and went on to play in the BCS National Championship Game where they fell to the Florida State Seminoles in a thriller. The SEC is always exciting, with a rivalry every week and one loss could cost a team a shot at a national championship, and that's why every single matchup means so much for a dominant program like the Tigers. The Tigers have high hopes heading towards the 2014 college football season, though, especially following spring football. Auburn looks to have a star quarterback in Nick Marshall, who was slinging it all over the field in the A-Game at Jordan-Hare Stadium this spring. Marshall tossed four touchdown passes and led the team to seven consecutive scoring drives at one point to help lead the Blue Team to a 58-3 victory over the White Team. The Tigers will need good quarterback play to get the job done in some of their toughest home matchups this season.

The Tigers will need to play their best on October 4th when the LSU Tigers come into Jordan-Hare Stadium for what could be one of the top SEC games of 2014. The Tigers are always stocked with major talent, and this season should be no different. Auburn knows that they're capable of beating a team of this caliber, but it's also the kind of matchup that can slip away if they don't stay focused and play disciplined football. The fans are sure to flock to the stadium for this game, as a game between two powerhouse programs like this one is sure to be rife with highlight plays that will wow all those in attendance. You can join in on the action when you hit the stands for this Auburn-LSU matchup.

On October 25th the South Carolina Gamecocks will come to town to try and secure a victory against the Tigers, but the Auburn players are sure to have a thing or two to say about that. The Gamecocks have one of the best coaches in college football in Steve Spurrier, and he always has a roster that is loaded with talented players. The Tigers are going to have to be at the top of their game to send the Gamecocks back to South Carolina with a loss. The crowd will be behind the Tigers in a big way at Jordan-Hare for this contest, and it could be just what the team needs to put them over the top.

Auburn Tigers Football History

In Division I football, the Southeast Conference, or SEC, is consistently the toughest in college football. The University of Alabama Crimson Tide is the all-time SEC leaders with 23 conference titles and 15 national championships, including 3 titles in the last 4 years. The SEC is home to some of the sport's biggest rivalries including Auburn vs. Georgia, Auburn vs. Alabama, Louisiana State University vs. Florida, and Alabama vs. Tennessee. Some of college football's greatest players have come from the SEC like Tennessee's Peyton Manning, Georgia Bulldog running back Herschel Walker, Mississippi linebacker Patrick Willis, Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, defensive tackle Reggie White and Auburn running back Bo Jackson. When you play in the SEC, every game is a tough one. The Auburn Tigers, who play in the SEC West Division, consistently play games against some of the toughest teams in the country like Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss.

Fan Experience

As with every SEC football team, football is king at Auburn University and game day is a tradition in and around the campus. Playing their home games at Jordan-Hare Stadium, the Tigers benefit from an incredible home field advantage on Saturdays. Seating more than 87,000 screaming Tigers fans at every home game, Jordan-Hare Stadium is consistently one of the loudest in the country. From the first game played here in 1939 when it fit just over 7,000 fans, Jordan-Hare Stadium is feared by opponents and beloved by the home crowd. On any given Saturday, Tigers fans band together, students, alumni and fans from all over Alabama, tailgating outside the stadium, making the pregame experience one you will never forget. SEC football is a way of life for their team's fans, and during football season, nothing is bigger than an Auburn Tigers football game. Whether you have been to many football games at Jordan-Hare Stadium or looking for your first, there is no sporting event quite like a Tigers home game.

Auburn Tigers Football Fans

If there is one thing that college football fans love, it's a good rivalry game, and Auburn has plenty of great rivalries for their fans to enjoy each and every season. As one of the charter members of the SEC Auburn has developed long-standing rivalries with many of the other SEC programs they face each year and every team the Tigers face are looking to score a big win against one of the teams that are regularly at or near the top of the national rankings. Auburn's chief rivalry is with the Alabama Crimson Tide, one which is among the fiercest in the world of sports. The two teams face off in what is known as the Iron Bowl and this year's game should be as good as ever coming off of the 2013 game which saw Auburn eke out a stunning 6 point victory over previously unbeaten Alabama. Auburn's rivalry with Georgia dates back even further than the Iron Bowl and the two teams have faced off against each other in what is known as the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry since 1892, more than 115 times with the Tigers holding only a one game advantage in the tight overall series. These are two of the premiere traditional contests, but any SEC regular season game is sure to be filled with all of the excitement you could possibly hope for in a college football game.
