Auburn Tigers Football Road Games

Auburn Tigers Football Road Game tickets

Auburn Tigers Football Road Games Schedule

If you are looking to see one of the top football teams in the country look no further than the Auburn Tigers. Fresh off an SEC championship and a trip to the National Championship Game, the Tigers are looking to make the 2014-2015 season an even more memorable one. Tens of thousands of Tigers fans attend home games at Jordan-Hare Stadium but true die-hard Auburn fans are willing to make the journey to catch a road game and give the team some support in an otherwise hostile environment. Once you head out to a road Tigers football game and feel the energy of rooting on your favorite team in a stadium where the vast majority of the other fans are rooting for the opposition you will want to start making more and more trips to catch all of the big Auburn road games, especially the key SEC match ups.

This season the Tigers take on two of their biggest rivals on the road and they will need your support in both of these games which could have huge impacts on the SEC standings as well as the national rankings. On November 15th the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry is renewed when the Tigers travel to Athens, Georgia to take on the Georgia Bulldogs at Sanford Stadium. Only one game separates the two teams in the overall record of this long-standing rivalry and the Tigers could use a big road win to gain some more separation. Perhaps the biggest regular season game of the year takes place two weeks later on November 29th when the Tigers head to Tuscaloosa for a showdown with the Alabama Crimson Tide at Bryant Denny Stadium. Last year the Iron Bowl determined the winner of the SEC West and this year's game could be equally important so be sure to make the trip to support the Tigers in this one.

The Team

The 2013 Auburn Tigers had an incredible season that seemingly came from out of nowhere following a disappointing 2012 season and ended up being ranked number 2 in the nation despite being picked to finish 5th in the SEC in preseason polls. Coach Gus Malzahn will be looking to guide his team to similar success and prove that Auburn remains on the right track. This year the Tigers will not be surprising anybody but they have a talented roster filled with players and coaches hungry for a championship after coming so close to one at the end of last season. The Tigers will be on a mission in 2014 and die hard fans will want to catch as many games in person as they can, including all of the big road games.

Auburn Tigers Football Conference

No matter where you catch an SEC football game it is sure to be a thrilling experience. In Division I football, the Southeast Conference, or SEC, is consistently the toughest in college football. The University of Alabama Crimson Tide is the all time SEC leader with 23 conference titles and 15 national championships, including 3 titles in the last 4 years. The SEC is home to some of the sport's biggest rivalries including Auburn vs. Georgia, Auburn vs. Alabama, Louisiana State University vs. Florida, and Alabama vs. Tennessee. Some of college football's greatest players have come from the SEC like Tennessee's Peyton Manning, Georgia Bulldog running back Herschel Walker, Mississippi linebacker Patrick Willis, Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, defensive tackle Reggie White and Auburn running back Bo Jackson. When you play in the SEC, every game is a tough one. The Auburn Tigers, who play in the SEC West Division, consistently play games against some of the toughest teams in the country like Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss. Last season the Auburn Tigers finished with a 13-1 record (7-1 in SEC play) and went on to play in the BCS National Championship Game where they fell to the Florida State Seminoles in a thriller. The SEC is always exciting, with a rivalry every week and one loss could cost a team a shot at a national championship.

Auburn Tigers Football Rivalries

The Auburn Tigers have long running rivalries with several SEC schools, but two of their biggest and oldest rivalries exist with Georgia and Alabama. The rivalry between the two schools is known as the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry and dates all the way back to 1892 with the two universities playing each other more than 115 times. The first game in the rivalry between Auburn and Alabama was held in 1893, just a year later than the first in the series with Georgia, and is now known as the Iron Bowl. This game is for much more than just bragging rights in the state of Alabama, it is always a big SEC West match up and usually has a major impact on the national college football landscape.

The Auburn Tigers have had three players win the Heisman Trophy, quarterback Pat Sullivan who won it in 1971, running back Bo Jackson who won it in 1985, and quarterback Cam Newton who won it in 2010 while leading the Tigers to a National Championship.
