Who doesn't love listening to the tender ballads of bachata? If you grew up in the Dominican Republic or your parents are from there, then you probably heard bachata while in your home as a child. The Bachata Sinfonica is a band that you won't want to miss, as they play some classic standards as well as share some newly created songs with you.
Bachata music is known for being very romantic and almost dripping with sentimentality. It is not a particularly subtle form of expression love for a man or woman, but it is very emotional, and a whole form of dance has developed around it. The term originally used for it was amargue, which means something close to "bitterness." This is music about broken hearts and distant love.
