Baltimore Orioles Trivia

Did you know that George Sisler holds the franchise record for highest batting average in a season at.420?

Though hitting.400 has always been absolutely astounding rate, nobody did it better than George Sisler back in 1922. Playing for the St. Louis Browns, the team that would eventually become the Baltimore Orioles, Sisler racked up a.420 average which still ranks as one of the top hitting seasons in history. That year was actually the second time that Sister hit.400 or better, solidifying himself as one of the top batters in the history of Major League Baseball.

Baltimore Orioles History

MLB tickets to see the Orioles in the playoffs have been in the sports tickets market in Baltimore since the mid-1940s, and they've become nothing short of icons of the local sports scene since then. The seventies and eighties produced the most Orioles playoff appearances, as the Baltimore Orioles snagged World Series victories in 1970 and 1983, in addition to winning four pennants in those two decades. All-time great Cal Ripken Jr. played his entire career in Baltimore and set the record for consecutive games played, one of the most well-known records in all of professional sports. Now playing in the A.L. East, the division frequently considered the top in all of Major League Baseball, the Orioles tend to have plenty of exciting match-ups from year to year, and it only gets more intense when they're coming down the home stretch hoping to put the final touches on a playoff run.
