Band of Skulls got their start in nightclubs in the London area, recording demos when they could raise the money. They even recorded several songs using a makeshift studio in their father's shed studio. They began their career under the name Fleeing New York and later changed it to Band of Skulls. The band recorded their first album, Baby Darling Doll Face Honey themselves and distributed it through Shangri-La Music. It became a free single of the week on iTunes, where producers of the hit NBC drama Friday Night Lights took notice. They featured the song on the show's soundtrack. This helped to get the band's name out in the music world, and led to their music being used in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and on the soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack. Today, the band has performed in numerous big-time festivals, headlined their own tour and even performed on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Band of Skulls is currently on tour and will be making stops in cities all over the country, including the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville, the Atlantic Station in Atlanta, Emos in Austin, The Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in LA and many other venues across the nation. Trivia

Band of Skulls is used to performing in front of large crowds, but what they didn't anticipate when they performed at the 2012 Austin City Limits Music Festival is the rainstorm that soaked Russell Marsden's pedal board. Thankfully, the band was able to dry out the equipment and later perform their set for their adoring fans.

About the Artist

Band of Skulls formed in 2004 and began performing in the Greater London area. They found that their unique blend of alternative rock, blues and hard rock gave them an edge in the local music scene. Fans couldn't seem to get enough of the newly-formed band, and the three musicians capitalized on this success. They recorded demos in a shed-studio in their parent's backyard, and began handing it out to fans and music executives. They released their debut album, Baby Darling Doll Face Honey in 2009 through Shangri-La Music, and found themselves being featured as the free Single of the Week on iTunes. This "free" exposure gave them just the push they needed to become a household name in the music world. Their music was soon being featured on video games and in television shows.

Since then, the band has continued to cement its status, topping the charts and gaining new fans with every performance. From performing in bars around their hometown to performing for sold-out crowds in some of the most prestigious venues in the world, this band has come a long way. And they continue to have success. They have performed at SXSW and the Austin City Limits Music Festival, along with several other big-name festivals in the country. They have also been the focus of a documentary and have performed their song "Asleep at the Wheel" on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Don't miss your chance to be there when these legends-in-the-making take the stage and perform their latest music and greatest hits. Get your tickets from StubHub today!
