San Francisco is home to some of the most eclectic music groups on the entire scene, including Beats Antique. The Oakland-based world fusion band is striking a chord on the indie and dance music circuits. Hot off the release of the 2010 release Blind Threshold, Beats Antique will soon be at a venue near you!
Beats Antique first got started in the music industry in 2007, when band members Zoe Jakes, David Satori and Tommy "Sidecar" Cappel first met up in the Bay Area. Combining flecks of tango, Indian dance, Middle East beats and a touch of hip-hop, Beats Antique began banging down the double doors of the recording industry and is still a must-see group in concert.
Beats Antique has released several EPs and albums, including 2007's Tribal Derivations, 2008's Collide, 2009's Contraption Vol. 1, 2010's The Trunk Archives EP and, most recently, 2010's Blind Threshold.
