Belasco Theater Los Angeles History
The Belasco Theater has been a Los Angeles landmark for over a century although
it has been in various states of use and under a few different names over the years. In the early Twentieth century the theater
was home to plays and had huge stars like Helen Hayes and Humphrey Bogart appear on stage. It suffered a brief closure in
the 1940's before being reopened later in the decade as a burlesque theater. From the Fifties through the Seventies the venue
was used as a church before again being sold and being used as a rental space for gatherings. These days the Belasco is used
as a concert venue and regularly brings in big time music acts to perform.

two restaurants, a basement lounge, and a main theater. Big name acts like Boy George, the Growlers, James Blunt, Sam Smith,
Band of Skulls, and others have performed in front of amazed crowds at this historic venue. The massive renovations recently
done to the Belasco have helped make it one of the most popular night spots in all of Los Angeles. If you are looking for
an incredible night out full of great music, drinks, and food, make plans to attend a show at Belasco Theater.
As the city in California with the highest population, and the second most populous city in the
United States, you can be sure that there are plenty of reasons to visit Los Angeles. You would be remiss not to visit the
beach whether it is Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Malibu, or any of the other nearby beaches. A trip to Hollywood Boulevard
will allow you to go along the Walk of Fame and see the names some of your favorite stars of film, television, radio, and
music before you stop by Grauman's Chinese Theater and see where the biggest stars in the history of showbiz have put their
hand prints in the cement. If you are looking for something more high brow head over to the J. Paul Getty Museum and see some
of the world famous art hanging from its walls.
