Belle and Sebastian came together in Glasgow, Scotland and came out with their first two albums in 1996. Because of Belle and Sebastian's sound, the band was dubbed "delicate" and "pretty." In 1997, the word of the band had reached the U.S. but they had to pull out of a tour due to lack of money. It was when Belle and Sebastian released their album Dear Catastrophe Waitress in 2003 that they released hits like "Step in to My Office" and got the attention they deserved.
