        Founded by Larry Bell, Bell's Brewery Inc. made its first beer sale in 1985. A 15-gallon soup kettle was originally used to brew the beer until the company's production grew exponentially to accommodate demand. By 1989, Bell was shipping over 500 barrels yearly. And in 1993, Bell's Brewery became the first Michigan brewery to open a pub onsite. Today, despite expansions, the downtown Kalamazoo production facility is still in tact. Besides Bells Beer Garden and Brewery, the site also houses several specialty projects, along with brewing a tremendous variety of beers, usually only available at the adjacent Eccentric Cafe.         The Eccentric Cafe, constructed out of dedicated warehouse space, accommodates musicians and other entertainment artisans from across the country.
