Ben Kweller was definitely born into a musical family and before he was old enough to go to kindergarten he was copying his father's friend and guitarist Nils Lofgren. Eventually, Kweller got his own guitar and at eight he was writing his own songs. When Kweller was a teenager, he put together a few bands but it wasn't until 1993 and the band Radish he got attention in the local Dallas scene. After a few records and tours, Rasish broke up in 1999. Kweller signed with Island records and started out solo. He worked with artists Ben Folds and Ben Lee to make an album The Bens in 2003.
