Formed in LA in 1978, Berlin is an American synthpop band lead by bass guitarist, John Crawford, accompanied by members Terri Nunn (vocals), David Diamond (keyboards), Ric Olsen (guitar), Matt Reid (keyboards) and Rod Learned (drums). Learned left during the first EU tour and was replaced by Rob Brill (drums). In the early 80's the band broke through into mainstream-commercial success with singles such as "The Metro", "Sex (I'm A...)", and "No More Words." A few years later, their "Take My Breath Away" took the world's breath away, and was even featured in the 1986 hit film Top Gun. In 1987, Berlin's members dissolved to pursue their own careers, but later reunited in 1999 and hasn't looked back since.
