Bethel Woods Center for the Arts History
Even those who think they are unfamiliar with Bethel Woods Center for
the Arts have most likely seen some archival video of the area, since it was the site of the historic 1969 Woodstock Music
and Arts Fair. It is located approximately 90 miles north of New York City, not far from Syracuse, on a 2,000 acre plot of
land that is visited by many of the best performers in the world of music who are eager to perform at the same site as the
legendary Woodstock Music and Arts Fair. There is also a fantastic museum located on the premises dedicated to preserving
the memory of all of the great music that was performed at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in the Sixties. The museum at
Bethel Woods Center for the Arts was the recipient of a 2010 Thea Award for excellence in themed entertainment. The building
of the museum was initiated by Alan Gerry whose Gerry Foundation spearheaded a $100 million project in 2004 after having purchased
1,700 acres around the area back in 1996.

Although it is definitely
best-known for the Woodstock Music and Arts Fair, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts has some exciting concerts and events lined
up this year as well. This summer should be a banner season for this venue, as some great musicians are ready to hit the stage.
July will see legends like Crosby, Stills and Nash, Jimmy Buffet and James Taylor, giving fans the chance to see some of the
most famous artists around. August is set to be another fantastic month, as John Forgery, Lionel Richie and the Kings of Leon
will all be bringing their brands of music to the stage, showing the variety of tunes folks can catch live at this amazing
