A trip to Concon, Chile, set the stage for Beto Cuevas's singing career. It was there where he met La Ley drummer Mauricio Claveria. He invited Cuevas to join the band. Cuevas premiered as La Ley's singer on the debut album, Desiertos, which quickly transformed him into the voice of the band. Cuevas filled the shoes of founder and leader of La Ley, Andres Bobe, after he was tragically killed in a car accident. Cuevas takes on the dual role as the driving creative force behind the band along with continuing as the face of the band. La Ley's story is essentially separated into two categories - before and after Andres Bobe. Cuevas's inspiration after the passing of Bobe vaulted the band into stardom. He influenced a musical shift that pushed the envelope for La Ley, showcasing their unique style among other Latin and Chilean bands.
