Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, the Big Dipper originated in 1985 by former members of The Embarrassment and the Volcano Suns. Between 1987 and 1990 they released four albums before parting ways. But the good news is the Big Dipper returned from the stratosphere, reuniting in 2008. That same year, a 3-CD anthology of Big Dipper's Homestead recordings was released under the Merge Records label, which included additional material. In 2009, Big Dipper's songs She's Fetching, Younger Bums and All Going Out Together were released for the Rock Band video game series. The songs are available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. All Going Out Together was additionally featured in the flick, I Melt With You.
