Big Head Todd and the Monsters Trivia

Did you know that Big Head Todd and the Monsters contributed a song to Led Zeppelin tribute album Encomium: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin?

Zeppelin was, obviously, one of the great bands of all-time, and when producers wanted to do a tribute to the legendary band, Big Head Todd and the Monsters ended up contributing "Tangerine" to the effort.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters Background

Big Head Todd and the Monsters came from humble beginnings in 1986, when guitarist and vocalist Todd Park Mohr joined forces with drummer Brian Nevin and bassist Rob Squires to put their collective musical passions to good use. They quickly built a cult following in their native Colorado and the surrounding states due to their infectious energy at their live shows, and after forming their own record label in 1989, they released their first two albums to minor success.

Their big break came in 1993, when Big Head Todd and the Monsters were signed to Giant Records and recorded their third album, Sister Sweetly, with producer David Z, who was a former associate of the legendary recording artist Prince. The disc spawned three singles-- "Bittersweet," "Broken Hearted Savior," and "Circle"-- that all made the rock charts and launched the album to platinum status, selling over a million copies in the United States alone. Their follow-up albums throughout the 1990s and early 2000s were continued accomplishments for the band, and they were able to work with some of the premiere musicians and producers in the game at the time.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters Albums

Big Head Todd and the Monsters have claimed the title as one of the most prolific and well-loved jam rock bands of the early 1990s, with thirteen albums, countless singles, and platinum-record certification under their belts. These immensely talented musicians have been dedicating their lives to creating incredible music for their die-hard fans, and have made their trademark from their laid-back, jazz-influenced blues rock sound. But even though it's obviously pretty great to listen to your favorite Big Head Todd tracks from home, this is a band that takes it to a completely different level when you get a chance to see them do their thing in person.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters Concert Experience

Though it's tempting to try to gauge a band from home, it's next to the rest of the fans that love the band every bit as much as you do that you'll get the full experience, and that's definitely what you'll get whenever you get out to see Big Head Todd and the Monsters do their thing.
