Blood On The Dance Floor Background

Blood On The Dance Floor was the brainchild of Dahvie Vanity (David Jesus Torres) in Orlando, Florida. Originally dubbed Love the Fashion, the band began as a group effort that included Rebecca Fugate and Christopher Mongillo. The band was initially started as a joke and paid homage to MySpace star Jeffree Star - who is a cross-dressing icon who emerged onto the music scene after garnering pseudo-fame from his over-the-top photos posted on MySpace. Eventually, the joke evolved into something more serious, leading to Blood On The Dance Floor's focus on making their first album. Let's Start A Riot arrived in 2007. Mongillo and Fugate exited the band, leaving Vanity to tour on his own. While on tour, he met Garrett Ecstasy, who became his partner in crime in 2008. It didn't take long for Blood On The Dance Floor to cultivate a rabid fan base. The newly founded group soon came to a bump in the road when Ecstasy was booted out of the band for allegedly stealing. Jeremy Brian Griffis took his place, going by the stage name of Jayy Von Monroe. The two started working on fresh material and concentrated on their tour schedule. Eventually, the duo joined forces with their idol Jeffree Starr to blow out a few tracks in 2010. The collaboration spiked their success, and their album Epic climbed to the No. 5 slot on the dance/electronic Billboard chart. Epic was followed by All the Rage!!, Evolution and Bad Blood.
