About the Band
Kenny Loggins has been a big name in the music industry since the 1970s when
he was part of a songwriting duo with Jimmy Messina. After that partnership was over Loggins had a successful solo career
during the Eighties with hit songs like Footloose and Dangerzone. However, decades later it was when Loggins teamed up with
Gary Burr and they began working on some songs together. Loggins was instantly reminded of his work with Messina back in the
Seventies and suggested that he and Burr form a band. Burr then mentioned the idea of recruiting the talented singer and songwriter
Gerogia Middleman. The addition of Middleman did wonders for the band as they now had a female vocalist to complement the
vocals of the two men and enrich their harmonies. Before long the Blue Sky Riders had taken form and the three talented songwriters
were crafting some of the best songs pop music had heard in years.
After toiling away at
new songs and performing low profile gigs around their hometown, Blue Sky Riders finally felt they were ready to head into
the studio. In January 2013, their debut album, Finally Home was self-released on the band's own label 3Dream Records. It
was an immediate hit, with three well-established singer/songwriters teaming up and attracting their own wide ranging fan
bases. The band finally started playing more heavily promoted shows all across the country and gave fans exactly what they
had been hoping for. Word quickly spread that there was a hot new super group on the pop music scene and fans began showing
up in droves to see their favorite singers.
You have been waiting for months if not years
for this night to come and finally as the lights lower you begin to see the beloved Kenny Loggins, Gary Burr, and Georgia
Middleman making their way out onto the stage. The crowd erupts in applause as the three singers approach the microphones.
A hush falls over the crowd as the singers give thanks and launch into one of their fantastic new songs. The crowd once again
erupts and sings and dances along to hits throughout the night. Perhaps as the night goes on they will play a Gary Burr classic
like Love's Been a Little Bit Hard on Me, or perhaps a Kenny Loggins penned tune like Footloose or House at Pooh's Corner,
or maybe even a Georgia Middleman like I'm In or It's All How You Look at It. By the time the night is through you will have
been treated to music from some of the best artists of the day.
Georgia Middleman is a talented
songwriter who has penned songs for Keith Urban, The Kinleys, Tracy Lawrence, and others. Gary Burr began his professional
career with Pure Prairie League in the early Eighties. He took over as the singer and songwriter of the group after future
country superstar Vince Gill left the band. He has written songs for some of the biggest names in country music including
Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, the Oak Ridge Boys, Wynonna, Billy Ray Cyrus, Reba McEntire, Randy Travis, and many more.
