Bob Weir was born in 1947 and raised in California where one night at the age of 16 happened to meet a young Jerry Garcia in a music store in Palo Alto. From there, the band The Grateful Dead was given life and it will never become one of the dead bands as long as generations keep it alive. With great success as part of the Grateful Dead, Weir decided to try to make a solo career but never saw the same success and that is why he stayed with The Dead throughout the '80s.
