Originally from Rosemark, Tennessee, Bobby Blue Bland moved to Memphis in his late teens. He played with Billy Red' Love
and other leading Delta artists. His first recording was "Dry Up Baby." In 1952, he entered the armed services and teamed
up with Johnny Ace Revue after his discharge. His first hit, "It's My Life Baby," was released in 1955, trailed by years of
success in the R&B arena under the Duke Records label. In the 50s and early 60s, Bobby Blue Bland was one of the primary influencers
of the modern soul-blues sound. His soul-blues style was marked with a big-band sound all its own.
Bobby Blue Bland's music career spans over 50 years. He was inducted into the Blues Foundation's Hall of Fame in 1981.
A little over a decade later, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and he continues to tour today.
