Boston Breakers Schedule

The current Breakers replaced a former Boston Breakers team which played in the now defunct Women's United Soccer Association, and now compete in the National Women's Soccer League. The Boston Breakers are one of the most successful teams in the league and are coming off of a somewhat disappointing 2013 season that saw them finish just out of the playoffs. This season the Breakers are determined to improve upon last year's record and make the playoffs in an effort to bring a soccer championship to the soccer fans of Boston. If you are ready for some world class women's soccer action get your tickets to see the Boston Breakers take on the best teams in the NWSL this year from StubHub.

About the Team

The Boston Breakers are well known in the NWSL for having some of the most ravenous fans in the league and the team never fails to put on a show. After falling short of the playoffs in 2013 the Breakers have been on a mission in 2014 to be sure that they will no fall short again this year. Head coach Tom Durkin has consistently been fielding the right team and making just the right adjustments to stay one step ahead of the competition and players like Lianne Sanderson and Sydney Leroux have provided all of the fans in Harvard Stadium with plenty of reasons to jump out of their seats and cheer. You will want to be there right from the opening kickoff as the Breakers make a strong push to the top of the NWSL standings and a return to the playoffs.

Boston Breakers National Women's Soccer League

The National Women's Soccer League is the premiere women's soccer league in the United States which played its inaugural season in 2013. It consists of nine teams, four of which were part of Women's Professional Soccer which was the top women's soccer league in the United States before it disbanded in 2012. The nine teams are the Boston Breakers, the Chicago Red Stars, FC Kansas City, Portland Thorns FC, Seattle Reign FC, Sky Blue FC, the Washington Spirit, and the Western New York Flash. The league began with eight teams and the Houston Dash joined as an expansion team for the start of the 20145 season. The games are typically broadcast on YouTube or on the teams' websites with the Boston Breakers being the only team to have charged to watch games online during the 2013 season.

The Experience

There are few events as exciting as seeing one top notch soccer team compete at home against another. The players in the NWSL have grown up playing the sport that they love and are out there as much to advance the popularity of the sport in the United States as to earn a win for their side and showcase their immense skills. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and gives birth to the most fervent and dedicated fans. One step into Harvard Stadium when the Boston Breakers are playing and you will understand what all of the hoopla is about. Unrelenting action, otherworldly footwork, stunning slide tackles, and mind blowing, acrobatic saves by goalkeepers will have you seeing exactly why soccer is referred to as "the beautiful game." You will be chanting and singing along and barely even need to use your seat as move after move will have you jumping up and cheering for the home team. By the time the referee blows the final whistle you will be anxiously awaiting the next opportunity to attend a Boston Breakers game and will find yourself an NWSL and soccer fan for life.

The Boston Breakers played their first NWSL game against the FC Gold Pride in 2009 in Santa Clara, California which they lost 2-1. The Breakers were also awarded the first overall pick in the 2009 draft which they used to select superstar Amy Rodriguez.
