The Boston Celtics in 2013-14

The Boston Celtics are fighting hard this season as they hope to make a big run down the stretch in 20130-14. The Celtics are a proud team that is never willing to back down from an opponent, and fans routinely flock to the arena for the biggest home games of the season. The Celtics made a huge trade in the offseason, sending long-time Boston players Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to Brooklyn. The team also saw its head coach, Doc Rivers, move on to Los Angeles to coach the Clippers. However, the team made a big splash later in the offseason when they hired Butler coach Brad Stevens. Stevens had been a hot name on NBA radar screens since he led the Butler Bulldogs to two NCAA National Championship Games despite having inferior talent than most teams they faced in the NCAA Tournament. Stevens has done a fine job coaching this team during his first foray into the pro game. The Celtics are looking to rebuild right now, putting together a young core of players and looking toward the future. Unfortunately, rebuilding teams don't often make it to the postseason, but the Celtics will continue to fight until the season is over.
