Boston Celtics Road Schedule in 2013-14

The Boston Celtics are ready to hit the court at arenas all over the continent this season as they look to take down some of the National Basketball Association's best teams on the road in 2013-14. The Celtics were able to make the playoffs last season, but significant roster turnover may make returning to the postseason a difficult task this time around. Still, this Celtics team will be fighting for the right to earn a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference all season long, and the fans can help them do so by getting out to see the Celtics on the road this season. Playing in the Atlantic Division is never easy, but it makes for some thrilling match-ups throughout each and every season.

The Celtics always look forward to traveling to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks. The cities of Boston and New York have a fantastic sports rivalry that goes back a long way, and that always figures into each and every match-up between the Celtics and the Knicks. The action at the Garden is always intense when the Celtics are in town, and being there to support Boston in person is the best things a Celtics fan can do. Boston will travel to face other division rivals like the Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers as well, and take on top opponents outside the Atlantic Division like the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers. It should be another exciting season of Celtics road games in 2013-14.

Boston Celtics Team Info

The Boston Celtics are a member of the Atlantic Division of the National Basketball Association, where their divisional opponents are the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers. The Celtics had an eventful offseason that has significantly changed the direction of this franchise. The team traded longtime head coach Doc Rivers to the Los Angeles Clippers when it became clear that it was time for a change in the vision of the organization. The Celtics also saw longtime star player Paul Pierce moved to Brooklyn, along with Kevin Garnett, via trade. These two trades brought back some young players, expiring contracts and draft picks, signaling that the rebuilding process had begun in Boston. The team saw the return of Rajon Rondo around mid-season, and the team retained him through a trade deadline where there were some rumors that teams were making a run at the point guard. While general manager Danny Ainge is always looking at his options, it looks like the Celtics are going to build around the former Kentucky Wildcat. One thing that should definitely give Boston hoops fans confidence going forward is new head coach Brad Stevens. The former Butler coach looks like the real deal, one of the few guys that can easily make the transition from the college game to the pro game. Stevens is the perfect young coach to develop players in a rebuilding phase. Going forward, the Celtics will look to stockpile assets and forge a roster filled with young talent. It's an exciting time to be a Boston Celtics fan.

Fan Experience

It really doesn't get much better than being there in person when your favorite team take the floor. Many fans of the Boston Celtics have done this for home games, but not nearly as many have had the experience of being there in the stands for a Celtics road contest. It's a whole different ball game on the road, when the majority of the crowd is not behind your team. That's when the Celtics need to hear their own fans in the arena the most, and you can be there to help urge them on to a big victory away from home. Hit the road with the team this season and catch them on the court as they silence an opposing crowd with their stellar play.

Boston Celtics Trivia

How did the Boston Celtics acquire point guard Rajon Rondo?

The answer is via the NBA Draft. In 2006 Rondo slipped all the way into the twenties of the draft, mainly due to concerns about his lack of a jump shot, where he was scooped up by Boston. Rondo would go on to become one of the most unique and dynamic point guards in the league under the tutelage of veteran teammates.

Boston Celtics History

The history of the Boston Celtics dates all the way back to 1946. The Celtics established the first dynasty in the late 1950s, one that would last more than a decade and find unprecedented success that has not been duplicated since. The Celtics have seen some of the best players in the history of the National Basketball Association hit the court in Celtics green and white over the years, most notably Larry Bird and Bill Russell. Boston has won 21 division titles, 21 conference titles and 17 NBA Championships over the course of this organization's illustrious history.
