The comedy of Louis Szekely (pronounced the way you’d say “C.K.”) isn’t like anything you’ve heard before. As a stand-up comic, writer, actor, producer and director, C.K. has built a reputation on self-deprecating humor. There’s an honesty in his work, often about being a parent these days, that is sure to hit home. Look for current shows going on now!
Even as a kid, C.K. wanted to be a comedian, enjoying records by Bill Cosby and looking up to Richard Pryor and Steve Martin. C.K. had a rough start early in his career. He began fixing cars for a living, then struggling in nightclubs as a young comedian in the evenings. Eventually, his perseverance paid off, leading to jobs in television.
You might not recognize his name at first, but you’ve probably seen or heard of C.K.’s work. He’s been a writer for “Late Night with Conan O’brien,” the “Late Show with David Letterman,” “The Dana Carvey Show” and “The Chris Rock Show” in the past. He also starred in his own HBO series called “Lucky Louie” in 2006. Tickets for his shows are going fast, to look them up and buy some for yourself!
