Boston Pops tickets are available, and although these are not necessarily " theater tickets," the culture that surrounds this legendary orchestra presents drama and theater of its own kind based upon the transcendent music they play. The orchestra works in conjunction with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and their works have been heard on stage by many who have used Broadway tickets in New York and theater tickets around the country for decades.
The Boston Pops Orchestra was founded in 1885 by Henry Lee Higginson, who had founded the Boston Symphony Orchestra four years earlier. Higginson wanted a separate entity to play a "lighter" form of music than classic symphony, and over time they have developed their own identity both in terms of the music they play and the conductors who lead them. If you want a "lighter" side of the symphony, see the Boston Pops Orchestra live.
