Brad Paisley

Born in Glen Dale, West Virginia, Brad Paisley's passion for music developed at the age of 8 when his grandfather gave him his very first guitar. Four years later, the fledgling musician was singing in church and at civic meetings and even playing in his first band, for which he penned all of his own original material. Paisley eventually landed a consistent gig on Jamboree USA, a popular country music radio show. He was so well received by listeners that he was invited to be featured on the program as a full-time musician, opening for other artists like Roy Clark and The Judds. After a two-year stint at West Liberty State College in West Virginia, Paisley transferred to Belmont University in Nashville, where he was a student under the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers scholarship. It was there where he was also introduced to Kelley Lovelace and Frank Rogers, who became instrumental in helping Paisley later on in his career. One week after graduation, Paisley inked a deal with EMI Records as a songwriter. His first achievement came with writing a song for David Kersh, Another You, in 1996, laying the groundwork of future successes to come for Paisley.

After signing to Arista, Brad Paisley made his debut as a solo artist. Who Needs Pictures, his first album released in 1999, fueled Paisley's rise to fame with the No. 1 hit He Didn't Have to Be, trailed by the chart-burning single, We Danced. Album sales topped off at more than one million copies. Other highlights of Paisley's phenomenal career include being named the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Best New Male Vocalist; and granted the Horizon Award by the Country Music Association (CMA); and being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry's Hall of Fame. Additionally, he earned several awards for his video with Alison Krauss; landed top-ranking spots on the Billboard charts and country charts with several albums and singles; and scored Grammys and even more awards from ACM and CMA.
