The star of the show, Campbell, strives to become the head cheerleader of the Truman High School squad. She achieves her goal but her reality is interrupted when she receives a letter announcing she must attend a different school because of redistricting. Jackson High is in a rough neighborhood, and to Campbell's dismay the school doesn't even have a cheerleading squad! But not to fear, Campbell ends up convincing the school's dance crew captain to convert the crew into a cheerleading squad.
