Brooklyn Nets Schedule in 2014-15

The Brooklyn Nets are ready to swish their way to some victories as they hit the court this season to host some of the best opponents that the National Basketball Association has to offer. The Nets are coming off a solid 2013-14 season in which they were able to post a brilliant second half following a slow start and make the postseason as a result. The Nets have a lot of talent on their roster, and the Eastern Conference is as wide open as it has been in years. The team will have to take down some tough opponents at the Barclays Center this season, but they look to be more than capable of doing so.

The Nets always look forward to playing the New York Knicks, especially now that they also play in the city of New York. The Knicks have one of the best scorers in the game in Carmelo Anthony, and the job of containing him will likely fall to Andre Kirilenko, who decided to opt in to the remaining year on his contract. Kirilenko is capable of shutting down some of the best players in the game, so this is definitely a matchup to watch when the Knicks come to Brooklyn this season.

The Nets will also look forward to hosting the Toronto Raptors, another division rival. The Nets had a heated first-round series with the Raptors in the playoffs last year, and any matchup between the two clubs is sure to have both teams playing at full effort. There are plenty of other exciting matchups on the docket at the Barclays Center this season, so check out the schedule.

Brooklyn Nets Team Info

The Brooklyn Nets are looking to improve on a solid 2013-14 season with an even better one this time around. Brooklyn got off to a slow start last year before finding their way and eventually making the postseason. Brooklyn was able to take down the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs, but ran into a buzz saw when they fell to the Mimi Heat in the second round of the postseason. The Nets made a big trade last offseason in bringing in Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce from the Boston Celtics. The team said goodbye to Pierce this offseason, though, as he elected to test free agency and ended up signing with the Washington Wizards. While that is certainly a loss for this organization, the biggest gain they'll get is from a player already on the roster. Center Brook Lopez missed much of last season due to injury, and the team is expecting their big man to be back on the court all full health in 2014-15. Lopez is one of the best centers in the game on the offensive end of the floor, and the Nets look forward to seeing him scoring in bunches this season. Second-year big man Mason Plumlee was a bright surprise for the team last season, and he'll likely see a lot of time on the floor this year. With a backcourt of Joe Johnson and Deron Williams still standing strong, the Nets should be in good shape to earn a spot in the postseason yet again this time around.

Fan Experience

The National Basketball Association is filled with some of the most amazing athletes you'll ever see in person, and that's why so many people flock to arenas across the country. The talent level in the NBA is unparalleled, and that's never more obvious than when you're watching the game from your very own spot in the arena. When the Nets hit the floor this season, you're going to want to be right there in the stands of the Barclays Center so you can get the full effect of just how amazing NBA basketball really is. It's an amazing experience to be there for a game that goes right now to the wire and sees the home team come out on top at the final moment. Be there at the Barclays Center this season to see the Nets in action.

Brooklyn Nets Trivia

Did you know that Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez has a twin brother that also plays in the National Basketball Association?

That's right - Brook's brother Robin plays for the Portland Trail Blazers. The duo played college ball together at Stanford and were both lottery picks when they declared for the NBA Draft. The two Lopez boys have very different playing styles though, as Brook is an offensive maestro in the post that relies on touch and skill. Robin, on the other hand, is a defensive ace that relies on his energy and athleticism to affect the game on that end of the court.

Brooklyn Nets History

The Brooklyn Nets were founded in 1967 as a part of the American Basketball Association and became a part of the National Basketball Association in 1976. For the first season of the franchise's existence, the team was known as the New Jersey Americans, but quickly changed their name to the New Jersey Nets. The Nets went to the NBA Finals in back-to-back seasons in 2002 and 2003, though they were unable to win the NBA Championship despite a very solid group of veteran players. In 2012 the Nets moved to Brooklyn, a borough in the city of New York. The Nets are still in search of that elusive NBA title, and fans are always hoping that it's finally their year.

Brooklyn Nets Fans

The Brooklyn Nets have only played in Brooklyn for a couple of seasons thus far, but they've already found that fans in the area are taking to this team unbelievably quickly. These fans pack into the stands at the Barclays Center to be a part of the action, and the team should see an even more rabid fan base in the team's second season in Brooklyn. The atmosphere at the Barclays Center has the feel of a playoff game almost every time the Nets take the court, making it all the more enjoyable for those in attendance. Head out to the arena to join the biggest Nets fans this season.
