George Guy was born on July 30, 1936 in Lettsworth, Louisiana, and he grew up playing guitar in local Louisiana bands. He was inspired by such Chicago blues artists as Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf, and he moved there in 1957. He began to release albums, and over time he has put out more than 25 cuts that have sold millions of copies. He is also credited as the inspiration for such artists as Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton, so a night with Buddy Guy will show you how an entire genre of music was born.
