Budweiser Duels 150 Schedule

The Budweiser Duels 150 is simply the place to be if you're a NASCAR fan, and that's not likely to change any time in the near future, as all of the best drivers in the sport will descend on Daytona International Speedway on February 19th to see who will stand above the rest and take home the victories. This event is extra special because it features two 150-miles races, and that means there will likely be two winners. The Budweiser Duels is an event that has seen some of the most legendary racers in the history of NASCAR hit the track over the years, earning the reputation as a top-tier event on the circuit. Fans love to catch this event live and in person, and for good reason, and it's sure to have the kind of engine-revving action that every NASCAR appreciator craves.

Last year Joe Gibbs racing was dominant, as it saw its drivers win both races. Matt Kenseth took the first of the two 150-miles races, as he finished the 60 laps in 46:49. Kenseth's teammate Denny Hamlin won the second of the two races with a time that was six seconds better than his Gibbs counterpart. Get out to see who will emerge victorious in these two races this year, and you're sure to have the time if your life out at Daytona International Speedway. It doesn't get any better than this.

Budweiser Duels 150 History

The stadium fills up for the NASCAR Sprint Cup preliminary event to the Daytona 500, the Budweiser Duels, which takes place at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Sure, we know that you could probably just catch the action from home or maybe even find the highlights on your smart phone, but you're way off if you think there's an app that can capture the intensity and exciting of being there with thousands of your fellow fans. The Budweiser Duels 150 first got rolling all the way back in 1959 and since fans have been treated to one intense race after another, with some of the greatest legends in NASCAR history taking the checkered flag over the years.

Guys like Dale Earnhardt, Bobby Allison, Cale Yarborough, Jeff Gordon and more have all won this event at least four different times, and you never know who is going to put together an unbelievable race that catapults him into the records books at Daytona. With a capacity of more than 167,000, this is also a racetrack that has the scope to match the talent level that you're going to find in the racing field, making this a venue that you definitely don't want to miss out on if you're looking for motorsports at the highest possible level. But even though Daytona International Speedway has had plenty of different races over the course of a given year, it doesn't get any better than the Budweiser Duels 150.

Fan Experience

Though there are plenty of other NASCAR races and events, it all culminates with exciting events like the Budweiser Duels 150, an exciting race that has been a staple of the Daytona sports scene in recent years. Even the DVR can't capture the action the same way, as it's always that much more special when there isn't a pause button and a broadcaster feebly trying to explain how amazing the atmosphere is, because there is a sport you have to get right in the mix of if you want to truly appreciate why it's one of the premier spectator sports of the day. As soon as you're there soaking up the vibes of a big race, with the best drivers in the world gunning for the finish line, you'll be glad that you're not sitting anywhere else. It's always a good time to get out to the track.

Budweiser Duels 150 Trivia

How many times did the legendary Dale Earnhardt win this race?

The answer is an astounding 12 times. Earnhardt was able to capture his first victory at this track back in 1983, though few could have possibly anticipated that he was going to win it 11 more times despite his already-growing reputation as one of the rising stars in the sport. After winning once more in the 1980s, Earnhardt would pull down the checkered flag every year in the 1990s before wrapping up with his final Budweiser Duels win in 1999.
