Bullet for My Valentine
has become one of the most popular metalcore groups in the world. While they began their career playing covers of Metallica
and Nirvana, they were influenced by many different bands and artists throughout their illustrious career. They have also
been influenced by bans like Annihilator, Pantera, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Guns N' Roses and Megadeth, as well as artists outside
of their genre including Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger and Bob Dylan.
And although the band's albums have been described
as being darker than most metalcore bands, they have said that they won't change their style for anything, even commercial
success. And that unchangeable style also concerns the way they dress and present themselves to the public. They would rather
focus on their music than their public image.
About the Artist
Hailing from the United Kingdom, Bullet
For My Valentine has been slamming the scene with their extreme music and packing venues since the late 90's. Everywhere the
band is set to play, hardcore fans are sure to follow. Their music is influenced by classic metal acts like Metallica, Iron
Maiden and Slayer and will leave you wanting more once you hear those catchy vocals and aggressive riffs.
The band formed
in 1998, by Matthew Tuck, Michael "Padge" Paget, Nick Crandle and Michael "Moose" Thomas while studying music at Bridgend
College. They started performing cover songs of Nirvana and Metallica, and soon began to write and record their own music.
They released their first EP, Better Off Alone in the late 1990s. They received radio play from BBC Radio 1 and garnered a
loyal following of fans. Their music was in the same vein of bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit, who were also gaining in popularity
during this time. The band continued to record and sent their EPs to various record companies. With little luck, the band
decided to release their final EP and move on from the band. But in late 2003, Roadrunner Records showed interest in Bullet
for My Valentine and offered the band a record deal. They released several more EPs and began to gain a serious following.
They released their debut album in October of 2005, which debuted at No. 128 on the Billboard 200 charts and No. 11 on the
Independent Albums charts. The album was certified gold, and sold more than 500,000 copies. This was the start of their illustrious
career. They earned spots on the Vans Warped Tour and opened for influential band, Metallica.
Since then, the band has
released three more albums and become one of the most sought-after metalcore musical groups in the world. Their latest album,
Temper Temper, has already garnered praise from critics and fans alike. They are currently on tour, promoting their latest
music and performing some of their greatest hits.
The road to stardom and a devoted
following of fans was a difficult one for Bullet for my Valentine. They suffered the heartache of a failed first attempt at
creating a band and the defeat of being passed over by record labels who wanted to go in a different direction. Right before
the band was going to throw in the towel, a forward-thinking record label heard something in the band's sound that was different
than what they'd heard before. They began working on Bullet for my Valentine's first album, and with its release, helped to
launch the careers of lead vocalist Matthew Tuck, lead guitarist Michael Paget, bass guitarist Jason James and drummer Michael
This is one band that always whips up fans everywhere with their slamming sounds
and shrieking lyrics. When Bullet for My Valentine takes the stage, they always come out with guns blazing. They seem to explode
out from behind their microphones and musical instruments with a youthful exuberance that has been ever present since their
first live performance. And the band's frontwoman Lizzy Hale is more than just a rocker chick with a nice set of pipes. She's
a transcendent vocal performer with something to say.
