BYU Cougars Basketball Tickets
The Schedule in 2013-2014
The BYU Cougars are always one of the most exciting
college basketball teams on the West Coast and this year is no exception. Cougars fans are always among the most passionate
in the country and the team has rewarded them with some exciting teams over the years. Brigham Young has recently moved to
the West Coast Conference, raising their level of competition by playing against teams like the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Saint
Mary's Gaels twice a year. The Cougars are a scoring machine, averaging over 88 points per game, second in the country. Rising
to the top of the WCC won't be an easy feat, but with their passionate fans behind them all year long, the Cougars will look
to defend their home court and work for a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
One of their main conference rivals heads to the
Marriott Center in Provo, Utah to take on the home team Cougars for a battle that may have major WCC Tournament seeding implications.
The Saint Mary's Gaels face off against the Cougars in Provo on February 1 in a matchup that is quickly becoming a rivalry.
Cougars fans will be behind their team 100% and will look to help the team protect their home court when coach Randy Bennett
and theGaels come to town.
The Marriott Center is sure to go off when the reigning WCC Champion Gonzaga Bulldogs come
to Provo on February 20 in a battle that could make or break the Cougars season. If they are going to take over the WCC Conference,
they will have to go through the Zags, so this game could be huge for the Cougars postseason aspirations. BYU players and
fans will have to bring their A-game if they want to bring down the mighty Zags, so make sure that you get your tickets to
cheer on your team in this big time match up.
On February 22, the Portland Pilots travel to Provo in a rematch of the
epic January battle between these two teams in Portland. The battle lasted three overtimes before the Pilots finally defeated
the Cougars 114-110. Now the Pilots come to the Cougars home floor and they will be looking for revenge in a game that could
mean a lot come WCC Tournament time. This is quickly becoming a great matchup of WCC rivals.
West Coast Conference has become one of the strongest on the West Coast in recent years, thanks to the strong and consistent
play of teams like Gonzaga, BYU and Saint Mary's. The Gonzaga Bulldogs have really put the conference on the national map
with its incredible string of NCAA Tournament wins, NBA players and habit of booking a very tough non conference schedule.
The WCC Conference now seems most of their games on ESPN, bringing the conference a whole new level of national exposure for
its teams. The WCC added the BYU Cougars before the 2012 season and its newest member is the University of Pacific, raising
the level of competition on a conference that is getting tougher every year.
The BYU Cougars
men's basketball program has enjoyed a very successful history with 27 total NCAA Tournament berths so far. With their recent
move from the Mountain West Conference to the West Coast Conference, the Cougar basketball program has increased its exposure
on the national scale. They are led by junior guard Tyler Haws, who is averaging over 23 points a game this year and has been
the best player on the squad since first donning a Cougar uniform. This sharp shooting guard is always a force to be reckoned
with and opposing defenses always have their hands full when they play the Cougars. The competition is steep in the WCC this
season, but the BYU Cougars have the talent and the passionate fanbase behind them to go far.
