first home game of the 2014 season will be held at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday September 20th when the Virginia Caliers
of the ACC come to town. Home openers are always special at BYU and this year should be no different, especially with the
game being the third of the season and the Cougars looking to avenge a close 20-17 loss at the beginning of the 2013 season.
On October 3rrd in state rivals the Utah State Aggies of the Mountain West conference come to town to take on the Cougars.

The BYU Cougars football team
has earned many accolades in the generations since the first football game was played at Brigham Young University. The BYU
Cougars have won big games and earned invites to many top bowl games like the Cotton Bowl Classic, Liberty Bowl, Motor City
Bowl and many others. BYU is independent instead of playing in a set conference, meaning that they are on their own when it
comes to rankings every year. Even so, the BYU Cougars have developed quite the following over the years. This year's team
should be well prepared to improve upon last year's 8-5 record with quarterback Taysom Hill returning for his junior year
and looking to make big strides. He will have the help of stud recruits defensive end Isaiah Nacua and wide receiver Devon
Blackmon who should be able to make big contributions during their rookie year.

BYU Cougars are not aligned with any specific conference yet they have regular games against Utah and Utah State. The school
is one of only seven universities not associated with a conference for football, the others being: Navy, Notre Dame, Army,
Old Dominion, New Mexico State, and Idaho.The BYU Cougars football team has one of the most loyal fan bases in all of NCAA

championship under their belt which came in 1984 as well as one Heisman Trophy winner, Ty Detmer, who won the award in 1990.
BYU's quarterback has won the Davey O'Brien Trophy for best quarterback in college football, Steve Young, Jim McMahon, and
Ty Detmer who won the award twice. The school has also had six former players and one former coach inducted into the college
football hall of fame.
