Cajundome opened in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1985 and has been home to the University of Louisiana-Lafayette
Ragin' Cajuns basketball team ever since. There is nothing quite like attending a big time college basketball game and Cajundome

Sun Belt Conference Tournament and been home to arena football and indoor soccer teams.

Cajundome is located in Lafayette, Louisiana which is not far from New Orleans. The Big Easy is never short of things to do,
even if it is just walking down Bourbon Street and exploring the myriad bars and restaurants the street has to offer. New
Orleans is known for its proud musical history and it is hard to walk into a bar or restaurant that does not feature extraordinary
live music. If you are there during the right time of year Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest are definitely worth checking out as the
whole city appears to be one big party. There are also plenty of opportunities to explore museums or take in a theatrical
production for those looking to take in some high art. The city is home to the New Orleans Pelicans of the NBA and the New
Orleans Saints of the NFL so if you are in New Orleans during football or basketball season you will have the chance to see
some world class professional athletes in action.

Ragin' Cajuns fans for their home basketball games and when the arena is packed the excitement in the air is palpable. When
big concerts are held at Cajundome seating is expanded to hold up to 13,500 and concert goers are treated to an unbelievable
performance that they will not soon forget.
Foloowing the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005
the Cajundome was used by FEMA as an evacuee shelter. The veneue also features a convention center which was added on to the
arena in 2002.
