About Camera Obscura
Formed in 1996 by Tracyanne
Campbell, John Henderson, and Gavin Dunbar, Camera Obscura is an indie pop band hailing from Glasgow, Scotland. Camera Obscura
released their debut album "Biggest Bluest Hi Fi" in 2001. The album produced their single, "Eighties Fan," which charted
at number eight on the "Festive Fifty," which was an annual list of the year's fifty best songs voted by listeners. Camera
Obscura followed up with their sophomore release of "Underachievers Please Try Harder" in 2003, after which they embarked
on their first tour of both Britain and Ireland, and the United States. At this point, Camera Obscura's careers really started
to take off, and they caught the attention of indie music fans worldwide.
Camera Obscura later returned to the studio
to begin recording their third album, "Let's Get Out of This County," which was released in June of 2006. "Let's Get Out of
This Country" gave them added exposure to the mainstream in various ways, including songs appearing in the television show
Friday Night Lights and the film P.S. I Love You. Their next album, "My Maudlin Career," was released in 2009 and included
the tracks "James," "The Sweetest Thing," "Swans," and "Forests and Sands."
Although their lineup has seen some changes
over the years, fans of Camera Obscura continue to love the band's unique, dreamy pop music, and their concerts are quite
